Film makers, scriptwriters, and book writers, etc. should join www.triggerstreet.com started by Kevin Spacey. It is free and a great space to interact with others in the film business and other creative arts. You may post work and comment on those posted.
Got writer's block...work it out here. Susan Solomon

Nice article. Thanks. I used to use Movie Magic. When I got tired of upgrading, I switched to Celtx freeware for writing. Excellent program.
I also have found a freeware program for audio called Audacity. Haven't really worked it, but it looks promising.

Sondra,
To be honest, I just didn't even remember the Movie Magic Screenwriter system. Final Draft has the odd distinction of being the commercial system most recommended within the industry, though Movie Magic has a very strong rep. as well. Of course, they are both for-pay software programs. Of the freeware programs, the Cinergy system has the best rep (though if anyone has any further suggestions, please let us know - it would be really neat to get a network of these links going somewhere).

Why don't you think Movie Magic Screenwriter meets industry standards? What doesn't it do that Final Draft does?

As for free screenwriting programs, Celtix looks good. I downloaded the Cinergy one and I'll give it a try. Now I'm downloading Ken Ward's Zipper. Thanks for the suggestions.

I thank you for the information, and the style in which you present it. Having worked in the biz for 30 years as a 1st A.D. on commercials, music video's, live shows, and around the world and back shooting on big and small budgets, it's great to find free useful information being shared. I will use and pass it on.
thanks again
